Dancer, Melinda Jackson
I am writing to witness my experience with the work of Zena Rommett. When I met her in 1996, I had been dancing with ankle pain and weakness for years, nothing could help. Zena corrected my posture and made me finally understand how to use muscles in an effective way. I became stronger, I gain awareness of my body, of where and how I was in the space. This was already a miracle to me, but beside all this she helped me whenever she gave me good advices to pursue my profession. She was an incredible model of a dedicated teacher, teaching not what she knew but what the classes needed. I think the community of the dance should recognize to this woman the incredible work done in creating and teaching the Floor Barre®; many are the one who were helped, who got inspired from her deep knowledge of the body, her work and her memory still lives!
