After taking a few years off, I was incredibly nervous to jump back in to the dance scene in New York. Aspiring to get back into a regular ballet routine, I saw a Floor-Barre® class on the schedule at Steps on Broadway and it sounded like a good (and less intimidating!) place to start. What I gained from that class, and from the many that followed, was a better understanding of my body and how it functioned, improved technique, greater range of flexibility and turnout, and a lot more confidence. Daily Floor-Barre® practice centers my mind and body and has taught me how to work correctly. It should be an essential part of every dancer's training regimen and is beneficial for everyone.
